The ones that brag they only spend money on fuel for the SRX are the same as lotto winners, just plain luck!
No, definitely a frustrating surprise. Kind of my fault for not inspecting the vehicle completely myself. My wife really wanted it so I met her at the lot and test drove it, kind of peeked underneath and everything seemed to be fine. Just glad I bought an extended warranty with it. $2500 warranty and got that back plus some, can't be too mad about that, right!? I do love the vehicle, it's a nice looking SUV. Just have to get her all fixed up to fully enjoy it.

All wheel bearings went @ once, strange! According to dealer.
Oil pan gasket was leaking like Niagara falls as well as rear axle seals
    Transfer case case seal leaked
Both belt tensioners gave up, made grinding sound, thought was timming belt.
All air bag sensor went hay wire.
All this replace under a $2000 warranty I purchased from GM dealer; total repair cost was close to $10000. Thank god I purchased warranty. All this happend within 6 months after I purchased it used with 55000 miles.
Now it drives great, love it!

    2006 V8 AWD
I think it has every option except for MagnaRide, Navigation, and Engine Block Heater.
    Mileage: 35,970

    2013 repairs include:
New torque converter (luckily covered under warranty, quoted at $3400)
    Michelin tires (~$1200)
    Battery ($267)

Anybody interested? I need something bigger (ESV or Suburban). Maybe I'll post pics under the classifieds section. I'm in KY.

Re: Show us your SRX Mileage!

My 2007 N* SRX 4 turned 100,000 miles yesterday......it had every option except MRC, the engine block heater, and the Sport package. I have made 3 extended road trips and have put on over 6,000 miles in just the past six weeks.

Last night the news had a piece on car ownership, stating that the "average" car owner is now hanging on to their ride for 6-7 years. Second, the reporter also observed that a well maintained automobile has only used up half of its useful life at 100,000 miles. What we older guys know is that high mileage on a vehicle was only a dream 3-4 decades ago and that a car used to be toast at 100K miles. No longer.

My master plan with the SRX is 3 more years and another 60,000 miles......provided the wife does not get paranoid OR I experience some major failures that cannot be rectified with a few $$$.

PJ...I remember when 100K miles was a huge milestone and a sign of the end of the road with that car...today it seems to be just a bump in the road...congratulations on your milestone and cheers to another 100K...

Just turned 60,690 with 10,000 on new engine and transfer case. Gas mileage is better than my old Denali so I feel good about that. The way this vehicle has been to us so far we plan on keeping it for a while.
