2009 SRX Digital Clock not working

Remove this ad
My newly purchase 2009 SRX with a Bose Radio w/6 CD changer is unable to display the digital clock. The menu to turn on the clock is not appearing on the display. You can set the time & date but does not appear when you exit. Has anybody seen this or have a fix?

The dealer says he can replace the radio with a reconditioned radio which I do not want to let them do. I am looking for something like relflashing the radio, dip switch position change etc.

Thx,

Peter

Re: 2009 SRX Digital Clock not working

My 2008 came without the clock on the radio turned on....

I am assuming this is the default because with the "old school" clock above the radio, it's a little redundant, but I like it on, because that's where I'm used to looking for the time.

Anyway, I had to set my radio to actually display the time.

I dont recall the steps, but I followed the procedure in the owners manual and it popped right up.... had no issues.

If I remember right... setting the date and time was a SEPERATE STEP from having setting the radio to DISPLAY the time.

You may already know all of this already, just figured I'd chime in.

Re: 2009 SRX Digital Clock not working

It's in the owners manual, I turned mine off. If you don't find it I'll get the steps from my radio.

Re: 2009 SRX Digital Clock not working

I wish my 09 SRX had a digital clock!

BUT - I have the Navigation unit, and those of us that have that, don't get a clock!

Bummer.

The programming for the clocks is in your manual, and it sounds pretty simple.

Re: 2009 SRX Digital Clock not working

Any further word on this? I have a 2009 with the 6 disk and according to the owners manual there should be a setting in the menu to turn the clock on. The setting to do this does not show up in the menu as described in the original post....it's just not there! I also do not want to have my radio replaced for just a digital clock...so unless there is a programing update or something non-invasive to fix this the analog clock on the dash will do just fine.

Re: 2009 SRX Digital Clock not working

I installed an OEM Nav unit after I purchased my used 2009 SRX in May.

Unless I am missing something, I believe it is the CD software NOT the radio...let me explain my recent history.

Originally, I did not have the digitial clock either. However, when I purchased the latest cd in June, the software on the cd upgraded my programming and now I have the digital clock...I'm thinking you have the old cd so all you need to do is purchase the latest version which you can get on ebay cheaper than from the dealer...there are other links on this forum that tell you what the latest version is (I forgot)...if no one else responds I will pull the cd and post again tomorrow!

Good luck!

Just found the latest CD version which worked for me regarding the digital clock....20857425U version 4.1.C

PS: I assume you meant you have a Navigation unit radio-hope that is the case or this post is for naught-sorry!

Re: 2009 SRX Digital Clock not working

jmmdk5:

I am thinking you do NOT have the factory installation of head unit in your 09 that I have.

You did say you added it yourself.

I have an 09 with factory Nav.. and I have the very latest software. I do NOT have a digital clock.

I believe it is a combination of Software with head unit that gets you the Digital clock - believe me, I have done a LOT of research because I very badly want a digital clock.

Also - some people running the 4.1c in an STS state that you can touch the "Minutes to Arrival" display and change it to "Time of Arrive" which my SRX screen will not.

Either, the actual Head Unit you installed in your SRX did NOT come from an SRX... OR... are we discovering an anomaly in GM Product, where they switched head units during factory productions midstream, with the newer ones having less features then the older ones - - which coincides with 09 GM Strategy of removing features while increasing prices produces profits.

Here is my thread on discussing the Nav Disk / Digital Clock issue:
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...oes-exist.html (GM Nav Disk : 25974486 .. does it exist?)

We now return you to the original "Non Nav" Digital Clock Discussion!

Re: 2009 SRX Digital Clock not working

I have a 2009 SRX as well and I've tried everything to display the clock at all times. The Owners Manual states that the crossover comes with the clock turned off and we must turn them on. It's just not working. I thought that I was going crazy.
