How much can these SRX'x tow? I have a 3500 pound boat. How anyone tried this adventure? Currently, I am towing with a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.7 liter engine. It has a tow rating of 6500 lbs. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

My '04 N* WITH factory tow package is rated at 4200#. Without the tow package, it drops to 1000#. I'll assume that the subsequent years are the same. No idea what the V6's are rated for.

Basically the 07 V6 is rated the same.
Have to chuckle, the V92 option is referred to as "Trailering Provisions"

    Re: towing capabilties

I tow a 3,500 lbs boat as well with the GM Class II hitch. All the Class III hitches are rated 3,500 lbs unless using a Weight Distributing hitch. My tongue weight is low (being a boat) so not really an issue with the weight of the tongue. My SRX tows ok with the boat. I had a Trailblazer SS with 4.10s and a 400HP LS2 previously. It doesn't tow anything like that, but it is ok. The rear gets a little "squishy" over large bumps. I think it is probably the magnetic ride control shocks unable to dampen the soft springs.

I think it tows just fine. You aren't going to win any drag races with a boat attached, but that isn't the point. My MPG usually drops to the low teens (13 or so) when towing.

I will say it is quite amusing watching all the F-150 guys at the ramp with one-wheel peel barely able to get the boats out of the water. The SRX (AWD) has no problems. I never had any problems with my TBSS either and it was RWD as well.
