Where is OBD II Data Link Connector Located?

Does any member know where the data link connector is located on a 2007 or 2008 SRX with the re-designed interior? It is not readily visible under the steering wheel or in the engine compartment. No label for it under the dash or on the visor. There are 3 references to it in the 522 page owner's manual, but its placement isn't identified.

Assuming I find it, does anyone have GM's list of the unique or this-vehicle-specific codes for the V6? Thanks.

Check left of driver side 5-10 cm below on the top of the console...on top of your left knee

Thanks. Found it about 4 cm to the right of the hood release. It is immediately above and behind (behind being towards the front of the vehicle) the bottom plastic dash. It is in a deep recessed vertical well with the connector pointing straight down. Fat side is towards the front of the car.

Note that the connector is same as ODBII, but ODBII diagnostic instrument will not read anything on the SRX; SRX is CAN.
Suggest a "Scan Guage" (look on the internet for Scan Guage) or other that reads CAN.
    Good Luck!

Thanks everyone. Fortunately Actron-brand AutoScanner code readers and scan tools are CAN compliant and have a narrow cable connector required by the SRX. The Actron is available at AutoZone for purchase or loan.

Specifically, the SRX is 11-bit CAN. There are some "sweet", affordable Bluetooth transmitter OBD interfaces out there (such as BlueTrax, OBDKey) which will transmit direct to a Bluetooth-enabled PDA, cellphone or laptop. Their connector housings are fairly wide and short. Cadillac's decision to deeply recess their connector in a vertical well could prevent these from being used directly. These devices may require an extension cable.

ANSI requires that it be located in the driver's area accessible under the dash, it is called a DLC or "Data Link Connector".
'04 and up anything Cadillac uses the heck out of CAN or GMLAN. We refer to it as LAN, high or low speed determines which pins you use for communication.

The new Hybrid Escalade actually has 2 separate high speed LAN circuits and one low speed because of the sheer number of modules required to make it all work with a communication module to tie the two LAN buses together.

Don't get me started on the location of some of these DLC's.... makes you wonder sometimes.
