    255/55/R18 or 265/60R18, which?

    Hi, (Newbie!!!!)

I've read plenty of forums to know that I could go with same size all around. Most have selected the 255/55R18's which I'm highly considering. I haven't seen many (if any) threads on 265/60R18's so I wasn't sure whether or not they will fit without issues or it just doesn't look good.

I don't like the open/clear space between the tire and the body, and that's why I was considering a bigger tire but I don't want it to look cheesy either.

Has someone had a similar experience to share? Does anyone have pics of both to see how the difference would look or is there a site that simulates how the two would look on my SRX.

Thanks and excuse the additional tread on tires.

PS I notice I have a 17" spare tire. Is that something I should consider changing to 18" because my tires all 18's? If yes, anyone selling one?

Would think the 265/60/R18 should not be a problem since GM puts 20" wheels on that are 31" diameter. You will have about 5% error on speedometer. 60 mph will be 57 mph. Do not know if there is an easy fix to change the speedometer readout. Possibly someone has tried the 265's or can advise if any potential problems with the sizing.

I am going to run a 255/60-18 and 275/55-18 rear.

Your 265 all around does sound interesting, maybe a 275/55-18 all around but Im just not sure about the front and not sure I want to deal with issues.

Well I will get the SRX up on the hoist this weekend and have a look, I think I may go with a 275/55-18 all around. I will post my measurements, diameter should be fine and they are only 1/2" wider than the 20"s but not sure if the wheel wells are the same on the 04 and 07's.
