i believe 95% this will work on the SRX 04-06 as well
it will not work on the newer nav systems which do not look like this |

My issue: I have a 2008 Mazda CX-9 here in Hawaii with a Denso Navigation System...However when I bought the car the salesman told me that the navigation works in Hawaii, however, i just found out the DVD Navigation Disc doesn't have a map of Hawaii on it. I got duped into buying the a $1,200 nav system without any map disc for Hawaii, it only has North America. Both Denso and Navteq don't know when they will have a map for Hawaii. After much research and trial and error I found out that the most compatible DVD navigation disc with my system is the either the Cadillac or Hummer Discs, but not fully. All the options for POIs and Address add didn't work but at least the map displayed. These are the only ones that can be recognized by my Denso system bios. Mercedez, Lexus, the only other Denso sytems here in Hawaii, were not recognized as a map disc by my system.
I believe if I can get the map files from a Cadillac or Hummer DVD disc that has Hawaii, I might be able to combine my DVD systems files with the map files to make a compatible DVD Disc with a Hawaii map on it.
Could any of you please put me on the right track with this project? What files to use from my disc with files from the Cadillac or Hummer discs and what software and burning options to choose?
Thanks in advance... |

Thanks in advance... | I can only comment on the last part. I've made backups of the original and updated DVDs..... so I have a sample size of 2!
First you'll need a dual layer DVD burner and, of course, a dual layer blank DVD. I copied the original DVD files to the desktop into a folder and used a freebie burning program. Either of these worked: CDBurnerXP or Burn4Free. Then just copied from the desktop to the disc. Don't know if needed but named the volume the same as the original disc volume.
So far I've only used the backups with no problems. |

How long do you have to live in Hawaii before you have every road and poi memorized? |

Needless to say I got lost numerous times within the 3.5 years I've been back and still haven't traversed many old parts of the island from my prior years. Believe me a map of Hawaii on my navigation system is worth its weight in gold...and thats if I could buy one, but their isn't one that is fully compatible with my system....my only resort is to use my disc's bios files and combine it with another disc's map data of Hawaii & POI data. Oh, I'm also at a minimum of four years staying in Hawaii...plenty of time to make good the effort in making a disc for my $1,200 "ROCK" of a Nav System my car salesman sold me...
If anyone can please forward my info to SONARTEC it would be appreciated as I see he is the most experienced in DISC BURNING knowledge...my new status does not allow me to e-mail members until i have 30 posts...
Thanks in advance... |

1. In the route selection window, press the lower right corner of the screen for a few seconds (no icon is displayed there- hidden button)
2. When the next screen comes up press "RUN"
3. Press "RETURN" - it is in the upper right corner almost hidden by the temp display, so you must slide your finger slowly up until it activates- before you hit the temp icon.
4. The route screen reappears and all the buttons are highlighted- allowing you to enter while moving.
That last part is what does not work for me, because my route screen still comes up with all but the one icon blanked out
Good luck- hope it works for you. |

small success story: tried the fix from post nr. 171 - it works for me. I have a 2006 SRX european model. The only problem is the setting isn't stored. I have to input it every time (once after starting).
Another info: when I press the musik/thing-button I can get access to the pin screen. But after input of some of the wellknown codes nothing happens.
