No. Production ends around June or July of this year and that's it for this iteration.

Yes. 2009 will be the last year before being replaced by the CTS wagon for 2010.

Thank goodness Jim. I heard somewhere that SRXs are "unsafe at any speed".

Disclaimer: For those who read nothing other than this thread. The above is a joke. The SRX does just fine in crash tests and has state of the art safety features.

SRX does very well in crash tests administered by the IIHS (Insurance Institure for Highway Safety).

At this point I am going to go with GMJim and say there will be a 2009. It may not be any different than the 2008 but they will call it a 2009. Possibly throw in a new exterior color?

There will be a 2009MY SRX. Some new colors, and a few other changes.

That's because that want you to buy what they have in stock.

YES, there will still be a 2009 model year--not sure where other people are getting their news from.

As such, it will be the typical few small detail and option changes, as well as a color or two. We'll know the actual specs likely next month, when the 2009 GM ordering guides are up.

    As far as dates:
    April 1: Order cut-off for 2008's
    June 9: Production start-up for 2009's

So, another month of 2008 ordering, building out those, then ordering banks for 2009's open and they start rolling in June and should be on lots very late June, early July.

As a Supplier of parts on the current SRX, I have not heard of any SRX parts being discontinued for 2009. We have been told the 2009's will be built, (the last year) and then for 2010 we will have the BRX which is in second Proto builds right now.

NO!!!! I don't want a gussied up FWD Chevy. Why is Cadi forcing me into a BMW? I have two goldens retrievers so the CTS just won't work . . . and I don't like the way the Escalade handles. I know it handles very well for a full-size SUV though.

You might be pleasantly surprised with the 2010 BRX. Its not going to be another Chevy. Will be built in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, and share a platform with the new Saab 9-4.
Most of GM's latest designs have been well received. Yes it might be slightly smaller, probably much more a much more efficient Engine, especially since Gas might be $7.00 per gallon by then.
