Re: Power liftgate conversion?

Geeze..........That's a toughy.
The power actuator would probally cost a grand. Then you would need a power cinch (lock.)
I am sure the body side inner was modified from 2004 to 2006 to accept the power actuator.
Add additional bracketry to mount the actuator
Then you would have key fob issues, since that's the only way to work it.
Just by an 2006. It would be cheaper!

Re: Power liftgate conversion?

Hey people have tried stupider things.

I think the hard part would be telling the car it has the option, it would be a class II thing im sure.

Well down the road when I have nothing to do maybe.

Yes. There's a big issue of not only getting all the various parts (different mounts, interior trim, motor, remotes, etc.), but also the specific wiring harnesses and the BCM being setup to know it has the option.

Basically, not worth it, unless you really have some time, money, and a donor vehicle on your hands.

As with many new vehicles with power liftgates, this is a VERY common question, and the answer is the same for all.
