Question Turn signal bulb burned out

Remove this ad
Is the front turn signal bulb covered by the bumper to bumper 4 year/50,000 mile warranty??? Bulbs aren't mentioned as an excluded item in the warranty book so I'm taking the position it's a warranty item.
ANY THOUGHTS????

Re: Turn signal bulb burned out

Bulbs are covered under orig warr; but blinker fluid, for some strange reason, is not. Might want to ask service mgr about warr on blinker fluid.

Re: Turn signal bulb burned out

Just a simple question as I've heard that some companies don't cover bulbs after 1 year. What's with the blinker fluid--that's a very old joke.

Re: Turn signal bulb burned out

I lost the right front turn signal on the '05 and it was replaced under warranty. When I told the service manager it was out, the first thing he said no problem that it is warranty. The '04 manual tells how to change the bulbs on page 5-53. Later manuals do not.

Re: Turn signal bulb burned out

my right blinker has be replaced twice
they said bulb was still good
they said problem with seal - water shorting out or something to that effect
if it the same bulb goes out that may be the problem

Re: Turn signal bulb burned out

Probably should insist on entire light assembly be replaced if you can notice moisture inside, if it is still under warranty. Whenever I see moisture in a lamp assembly I know problems will arise down the road. I do look for that when purchasing a vehicle.

Re: Turn signal bulb burned out

Mine was fixed under warranty-they took the whole bumper off. Said it was easier than going in under the wheel well and that was the procedure in the service manual.

Re: Turn signal bulb burned out

Bulbs are covered by the 4yr/50000 warranty. front turn bulbs double as daytime running lamps, so they do get a lot of use. When the bulb is replaced the socket must also be replaced with an updated one.

Does Gm have a tech bulletin or something in writing about changing the socket. I think they just replaced my bulb. Thanks for any info!!

Re: Turn signal bulb burned out

My right turn signal bulb burned out again-lasted about 2-3 month. They ordered a new socket this time. I told them to order a new socket for the left also since it blew about 6 month ago.

when they replace them this time, ask them for a glass based bulb. the plastic based bulbs are only going to last you for so long. sorry if it was already mentioned before
