I will post pics after install....

How much, might I ask?? |

Took them awhile, but found part # 12498643 @ $357.14 list. OUCH! I'm still waiting for a call-back from my hitch dealer. |

Class II hitch with 1-1/4 box receiver. Electrical plugs right in the existing electrical connectors in the rear. I have install docs also....not dificult, but you need to drop tire and exhausts. Only a slight mod to fascia for clearance at the rear fascia lip, which is not visible.
I would highly recommend getting the factory hitch and wiring. My cost was below list, so I can't advise what your dealer may charge.

I "conned" my salesman into ordering me the hitch at dealer cost + 10%, which will be $250 + $25. I plan on installing it myself.
What slight mod was there to the rear lip??
Looking forward to your pics. |

| | Cadillac Owners Member | | | | | Re: SRX Trailer Hitch Here's a pic of the "official" GM trailer hitch for the SRX. Hitch is P/N 88961322. Wiring Harness is P/N 88963947. You need both. Install instructions are well written and not difficult. You will need to trim the fascia about 2 by 6 along the facsia bottom edge in the middle to make room for the hitch, which is not visible unless you are on the ground looking up. For reference, a 3-1/2 inch drop ball mount with a 2 in ball is 15 inch from the ball tip to the ground.

BMWDON had me thinking I ordered the wrong part. I picked up the hitch today from the dealer. Indeed, my original part # IS CORRECT! The box contains both the #'s BMWDON mentioned.
Other than a hitch ball, my # gets you EVERYTHING you need; including receiver bar and hitch pin.
No time to install this weekend, but will get to it next week. Looks relatively easy. |

I think it looks quite nice. Pics below |

What is the tongue weight limit?
Is it different from the V6 to V8? I'd think so!
Thanks! I can't find that info anywhere! |

My dealer didn't know, but thought they were the same. I knew that wasn't right!
I ride motorcycles a lot. My dirt bike CAN be hitch hauled on the V8.
PS An Aprilia is a motorcycle brand. The Caponord is an adventure touring model (Similar to a BMW GS 1150 in concept) designed to take you anywhere on the continent with ease! | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
