DVD playing while car is in motion- priceless !

I am new to this forum.

Last night, five minutes after logging on, I learned the "1791" secret.

Tried it this morning. My wife watched a DVD from the front passenger seat. That DVD was played on the in-dash DVD player. (I am driving and have my eyes on the road, of course.) The kid's in the back were able to watch the same DVD on their RSE Screen. All of this with the car in motion.

Careful, fellow near here got nabbed for this not long ago. Drove by a beat cop downtown who radioed a patrol that nailed him. From what the paper said, it was a porno DVD playing on two rear seat (headrests) screens and a front screen. They did not nail him for a porno show, just being able to view the screen in the front.

Yes, I also tried this and it does in fact work. Playing a DVD in the front Nav system while the vehicle is in drive (for my passenger of course) is undoubtfully the coolest addition you can make for your SRX.

Push & hold the musical note for 3 seconds until you get the code screen. Enter "1791". press enter.

You are now enabled to watch--ILLEGALLY--DVD's while you drive.

Will this work on my CTS? Which button would I pess on the CTS to enter diagnostics?

I was just browsing the Caddy site and saw a pic of the CTS Nav screen. For the life of me, I don't know what GM was thinking, but it appears that the system is different than the Denso that our SRX uses.

My only suggestion would be, if you do not have the musical note button, to hold whatever buttons you do have down for 3-5 seconds, and see what appears---if anything.

If it's not a Denso, you're basically on your own.

I'm pretty sure Xanavi makes the nav unit for the CTS, not Denso. The "trick" for Denso would almost surely be entirely different.

I used the same trick for my XLR hitting the sound button I/O
for 3 seconds. I put in the code 1791 which is the code for the SRX. It works. Thanks soooo much as we were going nutz trying to find the hack.
