DVD playing while car is in motion- priceless !

so has anybody figured out what the equivalent button is for entering codes into the 2004 CTS-V?? I have tried pushing most of the buttons for 3-5 seconds but have thusfar had NO LUCK getting into the enter the code screen.

My salesman mentioned that Cadillac has 5 different Navigation systems. Each model is different. Meaning, that knowing one, still requires a learning curve on another. IOW, keep the manual handy.

At the risk of having everyone roll their eyes: is there a particular point you enter "1791" when attempting to watch a dvd? My 05 SRX is not responding to this code. I can pull up the pin number screen while a dvd is in, but as soon as I put the car in reverse to pull out of the driveway I get the "dvd is not a map dvd" message. What am I doing wrong?

Is there a code for the 2006 nav system. 1791 doesn't seem to work with it. Any others?

I tried it on my 06 SRX and it works fine. I do have to worn you though; while it is cooooool, it is gangrenous to operate the navigator while driving. be careful

I have a 2005 XRS and tried the 1791 code and it didn't work,any suggestions?

Hell I'd be happy if the DVD Nav syatem in my 2009 SRX played DVD's while parked. It doesn't even do that.

My '08 plays DVDs while in park, I can't imagine that your '09 would not.

I insert a DVD movie and I get a meesage that reads "The disc installed is not a DVD MAP disc".

Seems GM locked down the 2009 system even further.

It sounds as if you are inserting the DVD in the Navigation DVD slot (the one that is accessed by tilting the screen forward. There is a slot above the screen for regular DVDs or CDs. Insert your DVD in this slot,Turn on the unit, push the DVD button on the touch screen, push "cursor" button, press enter button,press full screen, and you should be good to go while in park.

You are exactly right, I'm inserting DVD movies into the DVD Map Disc slot. I'll try the CD slot later today. Thanks for the help.

You were right! I just watched a few tracks from the Eagles Hell Freezes Over DVD and was I blown away by the intimacy of the Bose 5.1 in the cabin of the SRX. I cranked the title song and it sounded ohhhh so sweet.

But the unlock code doesn't work. When I push the "tune" symbol nothing happens other than the sound adjustment setting screen appears.

Any thoughts on that??

You're right USAFRET, it doesn't work on later model SRXs (07-08-09). To my knowledge the "code" has not been figured out to view DVDs while in motion on your car yet. There is a "Lock Pick" sold by Coastaletech.com that will unlock the video and allow DVDs to be viewed while in motion. You might want to send a PM to Ryaus1 who has installed this in his SRX.

^^did not work on my 06 either. I think only 04 and some 05s.
