no spark !

1996 SLS -No spark coming from coils 6 & 7 and 4 & 1
A little history
I've been chasing a slight hesitation under acceleration for a few months now . A year ago I replaced the plugs ( ACDelco )and all was good until a few months ago . Since then I have ,
replaced wires- Delco
cleaned egr
replaced fuel filter
cleaned throttle body
replaced all coils
replaced fpr
verified fuel pressure 45 psi +

Two days ago I decided to perform a compression test .All cylinders read in the 110 - 130 range . I reinstalled the plugs and that is when it stopped firing from the above mentioned coils . no spark at the wires or coils . I replaced the coils with the used ones I had and still no fire .

Is there any fuses or relays I should check that feeds the coils ? From what research I have done here I believe I need 12 volts feeding each side of the coil assembly ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: no spark !

The ICM (Ignition Control Module) is right below the coils. It is what the coils sit on and are plugged into.

Re: no spark !

Before I go out and spend a few hundred dollars on a new ICM are there any test's I can perform to ensure it's the module ? My wallet gets lighter everyday , if you know what I mean .

Re: no spark !

I'm sure there is, but I don't know how. A FSM would have the diagnostic procedure unless someone else knows how to test it. Maybe one of the techs will chime in. That said, since it has only 2 of the 4 coils bad, I can't imagine anything else that would cause it. I assume it does not even start since there are only 4 cylinders left.

Re: no spark !

It will run ,although barely . I'm afraid to start it as I've heard I can possibly burn up the cat by running it on 4 cylinders . Thanks for your input .

Re: no spark !

Just to follow up .
Autozone can test the ICM and mine turned out to be defective . Replaced and I'm back in business ( for now ) .
