1999 Caadillac Eldorado Replacement

I have an 99 Eldorado. Somoeone stuck a screw driver thru the speedometer. The car was sold to me true miles unknown so the miles don't matter can I go to the junkyard and get one from a 98 or 99 and just put it in. This damaged one is driving me crazy

and unless it matchs it wont work and will not start

So can I just take the VATS system out of the car in the junkyard I take the speedomter out of. Otherwise Im just gonna sell the car

its built into the cars system
you can bypass it in the key but not at the cluster

how much would you want for it...?

I would bypass the pass-lock II. get one of the aftermarket security systems it tells you how to do it!

it bypasses it AT the key by using a resistor
it makes it think you still have the key in the car
when it comes to the gauge cluster its completely different...

The going rates on the speedometer clusters I have seen for these cars is$2500-3000. This is for the non-northstar Eldorados (early years). I would be scared to see how much it is for that car.
