:thepan: so i wen to my friends house, and my 1995 cadillac eldorado has hardly a scratch on it, nothing has ever broke, all origial parts except, of course, for the occasion battery and tire, but as i was backing out of my friends driveway, i heard an aweful screeching so i stopped, turned my head and was horrified to find my atenna had gotten stuck on a low tree branch and had bent the atenna over a 45 degree angle. i pulled the car forward, got out (in the 0 degree weather) and tried to straighten the atenna out, and it got half cut through bending it back, i shut the radio off and had a hell of a time getting the atenna to go down, so now its down and i have no radio in my car. :cool2: wow arent i cool, so driving to work should be a fun adventure in a quiet car for who knows how long, and i dont know if i need to replace just the atenna or the whole compartment, motor and all since it will snap off eventually, so i guess i better find out
any ideas anyone?
CaddieMan709: It could have been worse--an antenna mast is an easy fix. I was waiting for a "and then a car came outta nowhere and slammed into me" ending. Thankfully that didn't happen.
I see you're from Iowa--I want to invite you and your Cadillac to a meet/show in Des Moines the 3rd weekend in May at Bett's Cadillac. Check out the Midwest Meet in Spring '07 thread over in the Cadillac Clubs forum. (Any techies out there that can tell me how to insert a link over to that thread would be appreciated!) Anyway, hope you can make it! Where are you from in Iowa anyway? I'm in Newton: former world headquarters of Maytag Appliances and the proud home of the brand new Iowa Speedway!:yup:
hahahah my car has no CD player, just a casette but if i turn on the radio the atenna will try to go up, and plus i have no casettes, those went out in the 90's. i hate the atenna going up and down, in the COLD iowa frozen winter, the snow and ice can make the atenna freeze down, and JRau im from Waterloo =] had a relative work at maytag, that is a story huh? they work at deeres now so who knows, they live in Des Moines so maybe i could visit them in May and swing by lol who knows. and my "a car came from nowhere and slammed into me" story happened last year, thats why i got my lovly cadillac
