Drivers Window Switch Question

On my 1997 STS, all the window switches are black. Except the 4 drivers side switches, they are black with chrome trimming on the edges. I thought this was kinda of weird.. Did they come this way factory stock?

I saw some GM drivers doors window switches on eBay and they were all black like the rest in the car.

Those have been replaced, incorrectly I might add, by a set of window switches from a DeVille.

LOL.. I thought so... That was werid.. No wonder the switches work only when they want to...

That is the exact auction I found that lead me to make this POST!! LOL... Yea they go for 60-85 bucks depending on where you look.

Even the GMParts direct site had the Deville switches as their STOCK PHOTO Geeeze that was confusing...

I bought mine on e-Bay new in the GM box at a good price. I need smelling salt when I got a quote from GM. Just for interest the switchs are stamped "made in Japan"....lol
