96-97 STS Dash Question....

Do the 96-97 STS interior dashes have the flap on the passenger side for the airbag?

no
on the 92-95 dash theres a little square pad that would pop up and the bag came out of there
on the 96-97 with the interior redesign the whole dash pad gets pushed up and it the bag comes from between it and the wood trim

I think I might need a new Dash cover... The area where the vent, Photocell is is wrapped badly and the grille covering will not stay in place.

How does the dash top come off? Hidden screws or clips?

4 screws one behind each vent
3 more on the top left right and middle of the grille

Gonna have to check it out and see if it's that easy to remove... Sounds as easy as the 88-93 Grand Prix's... Now I just need to deciper the RPO's so I know what color code my dash pad is ... Then I'll start the hunt for a replacement...

please let me know where you got the dash cover because mines it warped as well..

mine was kinda warped too
i used dbl sided sticky tape wedged between the grille and the pad and it holds it down nicely
you cant tell
i think it looks very good

Does it work even in the heat of summer??.. I'd seen DBL sided Sticky tape become play-doh in extreme heat...
