I can guarantee for '98 Seville (and quite likely '98 to '04) that pulling the DRL/FOG fuse is not the way to do it. And pulling the DRL relay will disable your high beams forevermore.

My dealer has agreed to try this on my 98 Seville with the Tech II Tool. I showed him a print out of this thread, and he thinks I am a bit weird. Oh well. It's scheduled for next Tuesday.

I am going to try to be there and see if they will let me watch them try, but I don't know if i'll be able to get out of work.

I will post back with the outcome next Tuesday! My fingers are crossed.

Nope. Pulling the DRL fuse disables only the DRLs. Everything else continues to function normally.

That's what I did. It works great. Remember that I'm referring to the 2003 STS, not the older Sevilles.

FAILURE!! on 98 Seville

I just got back from my Dealer. I printed out this whole thread and they said they would try it with the Tech II. They could not do it. He said he went through all the various computers, etc but could not find what was posted at the top of this thread.

Do you have instructions or a step by step for the Tech II that I can give them? If someone has a Tech II by some off chance and can provide step by step how to do it with that device my dealer will do it.

They didn't charge me for trying...I'll send ewill3rd a PM about it maybe he knows...

i know theres a way
damn it i used to have it i was pretty sure it follwed the same ideas by going into the ipc and then overides then modifing them
just like how on 97 you can program your keyless remotes via the dic but on 98+ you require the tech 2 to program them
ill see what i can dig up

Crown Vic, What are you trying to do ? There are 4 different operations being discussed in this thread: RPM, Temp, speedo, and DRL. (Modifying the DIC display won't work in a '98 +, while pulling fuse 24 works for DRL only.)
