I was able to replace my own heater core with out any problems and I saw the PCM module with the wire harnes in there. Or do I need to drop the engine and transmission? I have a 94 STS and I own the Service Manual.

There is little "expert" knowledge to replace with a factory harness. Most connections are unique so it's hard to plug things in to the wrong spot.
If you are replacing sections you should be able to solder and use shrink tubing. I would recommend that over crimp connectors. |

It doesn't seem likely that the whole thing could be severely damaged unless the car was on fire or something like that. |

I can replace a wireharness but I am afraid they may be some places I can't reach. Apparently someone jimmied alot of the wiring to the point of no return to fix the throttle control and the dealer thinks its affecting the transmission as well. |

You can change the harness without dropping the engine. If you were to drop or tilt the engine some of it would be easier to get to.
You can replace the whole harness without any special training. Just carefully remove and pay attention to where everything hooks up. |

I'm going to be putting it back in tomorrow (and probably for a couple more days) - it's not gonna be very fun. At least my engine's back on the subframe.. |

I guees I would have to take 3 days off from work to under take this task. I wish they had a remanufactor that made these things. I got mine from a junkyard. |

I only pulled the harness out in order to facilitate transferring everything over to the new subframe. I haven't started to put the harness back in yet (I'll be starting in about 8 hours,) so when I do I'll post back here with what I think about doing it in the car... |

I think they are swollen from squezzing them into so many tight places. Both A & B crankshft sensors plus the temperture sensors were the hardest to get to. I under up removing my oil filter and cleaning my throttle. I did ended up with 4 codes after words, since its raining im soaking my hands.
My Question - LOL
But the only one code I have to figure out is the p034 -- I swore I had a new MAP sensor installed and its a remanufactored engine from jasper. In order to get the wire harness over, I did mess with the adjustments of the shaft under the throttle and TPS sensor. Would that affect the Manifold in anyway?
BTW it looks sweet, and I can't wait to put this baby on the road. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
