Re: Service ride control? - seville 96

I pulled codes. These are RS0036 History, RS0037 Current, and RS0061. Is there any link where I can read what does these codes mean. I am trying to get some resolution on Service Ride Control which is quite intermittent. Any idea please about these codes.

    Thanks
    John

'96 was a mix of OBDI and OBDII codes. Those are OBDI.

    Thank you Ranger.

The code RS0061 means - Right Front Position Sensor Fault.

Which sensor is being referred? How to find "Right". Is it when you stand in front of car, and then towards your right or is it when sitting on the driver seat, then Right hand side front. I will appreciate info please.

    Thanks
    John

It always refers to when you're sitting in the drivers seat. So RF = Passenger side front.

For the RS0036 and RS0037, usually the short is internal to the compressor, and good luck finding parts to rebuild it. I would just replace the compressor.... However, just to be safe, check your fuses first. One may be blown.

For the RS0061, I would just clear the code first and see if it comes back. A lot of times it's a computer fart. If it comes back, then you should look into it further.

Re: Service ride control? - seville 96

On RS0061 I would start by inspecting the connector and the wire harness from EBTCM to the wheel. It is not normal to show up unless some intermittent contact.
RS0036 and RS0037 are what is causing the "Service ride control" message. Also inspect/clean the harness (connectors) fist.
Now you know EXACTLY what is wrong with the car no point throwing randomly parts to the issue.

Please don't hijack threads. You won't get much help as the title is not descriptive of your problem. Start a new thread and list the DTC definitions with the codes.

Re: Service ride control? - seville 96

I have a "Service Ride Control" message on my display - when I run through the codes here is what appears:
    1996 El Dorado Touring Coupe
    No IPC Code
    No ACM Code
    No SDM Code
    No TCS Data
    No PZM Code
    No CCP Code
    PCM0325 History
    RS0026 History
    RF2560 History
    IP1740 History
    PC0603 History
    PCM?

Any insight to the meaning of these codes would be greatly appreciated...?

codes are meaningless with definitions -
