| Re: blown head gasket? This engine is prone to intake manifold gaskets being eaten away over time. Probably not a head gasket issue. Needs to be pressure tested to verify source of leak. If it is intake manifold, GM sells improved gaskets with new bolts. This kind of issue is not surprising on an old low mileage car. Fluids dont get changed at proper intervals. Alot of people dont realize fluids have a "shelf" life as well as a mileage life. I'll bet its got the 1985 brake fluid still in it! Once repaired, make sure and add the sealing tablets listed on the white decal on the radiator support. This car MUST have coolant changed every two years minimum as well as the sealant replenished at that time. |
