Ok fellas.. Possible 03' STS Sale

I currently drive an 00'. Dealer says they want my car because they have a buyer. So they stuffed me into an 03' STS Crimson Peal in color. 33,000 on the clock. Worst part about it is it has the damned non-factory moon roof. It currently doesnt have codes (but did when I 1st took it for a test drive but they were all history). No codes yet. It appears the front end was re-painted but shows no signs on accident. I am waiting to get the dealer to run a carfax for me when I bring the car back later. So I now have the car at my disposal for a few hours. Anything to look for besides what I have already done? There appears to be a small oil leak which I would just have fixed under warranty. Also look at getting it gm certified till 100k. Interior is missing homelink unit and dealer wont replace because they are willing to sell pretty low. Theres a little bit of engine noise coming from drivers area (might be a door seal). But other than that I cant think of anything else to look for. Looks to be serviced at the dealer. No need for trans or coolant flush yet.

I am not saying buy or don't buy, but that deal about having a buyer for your car, then it being the friend of a friend is pure bull shit. They are just trying to make a sale. The "buy it tonight" is another high pressure red flag. Take your time. BTW, which dealer?

Well considering they only offered $5,500 for my trade in told me not to bother. They ended up saying that offer was from a wholesaler.. But it was Patrick Cadillac in Schaumburg.

Whole think smells fishy to me. I think Patrick was just chuming and hoping to get a bite. I have bought 2 cars from them in the past. I think you ran into a very aggressive and sneaky saleman. I have run into two like that and one was at Patrick.

Oh well though.. They were trying to rip me on my trade in.. Going by KBB, which dealers always told me to go by, their offer was 4k lower. As for the 03', he was telling me it was so low in price but it was even with the blue book. But after test driving the 03'. It makes me want to get a new one more now.

I wasnt really looking. But the sales guy called because Ive been on his list for a long time now. He was very pushy and seemed he wasnt very interested in what I was looking for. Ill admit I am picky (like this 03' had an aftermarket sunroof that I wasnt fond of and I wanted factory sunroof), and I just wanted a white diamond which they did not have. But after driving it around for most of the day, I'm now more interested in finding one.

Roger that. Reason I asked is that I am considering going to DTS and would sell mine if I run across the right car, but mine is a SLS. Not sure if I am going to do it. Really torn between the two.

I hear you. I'm stuck on STS though. But I could see a DTS purchase if I had a family or something. Got to get one with the night vision too!
