Scratch one Crossfire, I think...

Had some guy in a Crossfire challenge me today. Normally I don't bother with them but this little tinker toy looked like an Eldo appetizer. We both came up two different on-ramps to I-295. Me on the left, him on the right.

I let him get on the road first, and he slowed down. I started to pass him, and he sped up. I sped up. He sped up. His little flappy spoiler on the rear lifted. I looked in the Rear view, all clear as far back as I could see.

Nothing much ahead either for about 3/4s of a mile. The Crossfire was pulling away, we were now doing about 65ish or so. I dropped it to 3rd and floored it when he was about 5 car lengths ahead. I caught him easily. I think he was just goofing around, but I have a feeling he was suprised a little by how fast the Eldo passed him and pulled away. It didn't appear that he tried to catch up. I hit 90 or so before I lifted but he never came up on me....

Was this a valid test? Do those things have any zoom zoom or are they just a pretty face wrapped in a tired old engine??

Re: Scratch one Crossfire, I think...

They do have zoom zoom if you get the SRT version. Mercedes engine, 3.2L SC'ed V6, 330 hp...pretty quick stock.

You probably toyed with an N/A version, 215 hp...not very quick.

The SRT 6 crossfire will take the Eldo 0-60, but on the highway, I'm not sure that the n* wouldn't take it... If you own a N*, you know it's such a beast on the highway. At any rate, I raced an Acura RL, with 300 HP. I had 4 people in the car including myself, and he kept up until about 80, then when the Eldo shifted from 2nd to 3rd, I smoked em! This guy was stunned!

I've also raced a V6 Mustang '02, smoked em. Raced an RX-8 05', took him after 90, he couldn't keep up. Raced a Lexus GS 400 V8 04'-05', and smoked him after 90 mph too! Raced tons of Audis, smoked em. The Eldo goes over 100 mph so fast, not many can keep up. The only car that has ever kept up with my eldo, is the NEW Monte Carlo Super Sport..thats one fast car. Other than that, the Eldo with the 300hp N* will smoke 85% of the cars on the road. WOOW i love it!
