Price discrepancies...

I just ordered a set of plugs wires, a set of plugs, and 2 torque strut engine mounts from Rockauto. The two mounts were about 10-12 bucks a pop, the wire set was 119, and the plugs were 6 bucks a piece.

I did some poking around, and the prices for these mounts ranged quite a bit...cheapest I saw other then Rockauto was like 30 bucks, all the way up to my shop saying they costed almost 100 a piece. Saw the wire set other places for around 160, and the plugs for around 10 dollars a plug. Is it normal to see this amount of difference in prices? I'm kinda worried I didn't even get the right mounts, they were so cheap compared to others. I got the Left and Right Anchors, part #s 2781 and 2780...pretty sure they're what I need.

Thoughts?

I don't think you did half bad on the prices, I would like to know if what you ordered were AC DELCO wires and plugs? Its sounds right for the two top torque stuts, they are not that big, the bottom mounts on the other hand, are far more expensive. As for the difference from your mechanic, he may be quoting Delco parts and don't forget he has to make his markup on them. If you are doing this yourself, make sure and keep the plug wires away from the blower motor, if they rub on it or get close, you will be needing a new blower in short order. Lastly, if you are doing the plugs and wires, have a eye for the cooling system, that would be a better project to do first if needed, then the plugs and wires. Good luck with it

Those prices are about right. Rockauto has some of the best prices around as well as very fast shipping. As far as higher prices, they will charge whatever people will pay. Just check the dealers parts prices. Then you'll know what a good deal you really got.

I'm doing it all myself...The day I can't do at least a set of plugs and wires myself, is the day I give up driving. (I'll probably end up eating those words sometime soon...) And yah, It's the AC Delco wire set and the AC Delco platinum plugs. Coolant was replaced a couple thousand miles ago, so I should be good there.

I just finished buying 2 GM Torque struts and they were about $45 a piece. Yours were cheaper because they're anchor.
