I did not buy my Cadillac's for the advertised horsepower. I bought them because I like them and I enyoy them both.
My 429SCJ Torino and HI-PO Mustang are brute force muscle cars. They are not Cadillac's and never will be. I enjoy the awesome lurch and radical idle these old cars have, but alas, they are not the fastest on the street either.
The bottom line is, ya' gotta love 'em for what they are! |

I used to have a Corvette. That had great horsepower. It was a very nice car. But you do give up things to have that.... the comfort is not at Eldorado levels, I can assure you of that. The cockpit is rather claustrophobic. You need to be a gymnast, or a contortionist, or maybe a performer in Cirque de Soleil to get in & out of the thing.... Plus you'll also get the added benefit of being pulled over constantly. Also, when your insurance premium comes, you'll need to sit down, take a nitroglycerin tablet, take a prozac, maybe throw in a Vicodin for the pain, and THEN open the envelope....
The Eldorado is a different experience entirely. It has plenty of horsepower, plenty, but it ALSO has comfort, a trunk, a nice roomy cockpit to spread out in....
A car is more than the sum of it's numbers.... |

I'll always love a cadillac over anything else. |

When you combine luxury, technology, and 425hp for $43K.... you know the car market is changing and 300hp is saved for mid-entry vehicles. |
