All he has done to the Elise is suspension and intake. His Lotus Elise has never seen the drag strip, nor do I think it will. Strickly AutoX and SCCA events which are another ball game that even Miatas can do exceptionally well in. |

Trust me, 99.9% will ride in a Viper over a Civic that does 0-60 to 2.5 seconds, that .01% are asian gurls. And I just realized this post started about Impalas.......whoever did that needs to be slapped because Impala is an original muscle car....even the 95-96 Impala SSs are bad ass muscle cars with the LT1. |

Maybe we should have a Florida Moroso meet.. It seems we have plenty of people that could make it there.. But that's another subject.. I guess this topic is pretty well finished...

The last model impala's were "shitty little cars" not muscle cars, especially compared to an ELDO. I used to drive them as patrol cars spending up to 12 hrs a day in and out of them. The only positive for a patrol unit was the front wheel drive for bad weather. |

FEDERAL. I carry whatever I want whenever I want wherever I want. And have been pulled over in NJ doing in excess of 130 mph a few times (late for work). I've toned it down lately. also retired NYPD. I actually got a ticket (first in over 20 yrs) from a "local yokel" in PA. Saw his chief the next day. All taken care of. Is any of this relevant to Impala's or 300 hp? |

Of course I am referring to the lightest production car available in the good old USA, under 2,000 pounds.
As seen by the EPA ... 26.1 mpg city, 37.5 highway, 30.0 combined
As seen by any Cadillac owner ...
I am referring to the Lotus Elise. | Those are handling cars. So yes, any Caddy short of the LMP would see that view on a road course. Motor Trend says 13.5 in the 1/4 for an 05 Elise. So in a straight line, any member of the V series would see a markedly different view. |

IMO, this thread illustrates perfectly what I feel is taking over this forum, especially lately. You have the usual crowd who gets their panties in a twist anytime you even insinuate there's something negative about a Northstar but it's more than that. It's virtually impossible to maintain a solid direction in a thread. People constantly interject virtually unrelated things into the conversation for no apparent reason, and the thread takes off in all kinds of screwy ways. Is it because they have nothing "on-topic" to offer but they still feel the need to get involved, or is it that they are just that ignorrant of the subject material but still feel the need to pull stuff out their butts and argue about it?
I mean the original theme of the thread was pointing out how things have changed in the industry and all of a sudden you have everybody getting defensive and acting like somebody was insulting their cars. And now it's even gotten down to arguing about a Lotus.
Ya know what, maybe it IS MADNESS after all. |
