97 sts stability reduced. Can you disable?

Can I somehow disable whatever causes the stability reduced problem. I have followed all the instructions to get the codes and they were all history so I cleared them all out. Maybe I'll get a new code next tim I drive the car. I only get the "stability reduced" error when I turn left at a fair amount of speed for the first time. It will not occur again until I shut the car off again and restart the engine. It will happen again on the first left turn. I am tired of pouring money into the car. I just spent $1500 on radiator, new tires, ac/ compressor, trunk pull down, a/c wiring needed to be all redone and the a/c system reset. I think I got a fair price, but the car isn't worth putting much more $$ into. If I can somehow disable the stability without screwing anything else up, I would be very happy.

    thanks,
    Mike

You should look up the definitions of ANY code that comes up. If you have a code, "history" or not, it indicates that there WAS a problem sensed at one pont in time. I'm sure that since it keeps coming back, the code is a reoccuring problem and not one that corrected itself.

A LOT of systems can't be tested while the car is not moving so of course the code is going to be displayed as "history" if you just hop in the car and check the codes first thing.

I'm not sure if there is a way to disable the stability system though.

Thank you for the reply. I cleared all the codes I had (30+) and drove the car around. It came back with 2 TCS codes that I will look up. I think I also had an MSM code too.

Why not try to fix the problem? I have had this happen to me on 2 occasions...The first time was after a romp with a 5.0 Moustang on some country roads and the brakes became overheated....(But he never caught me!) The second time was after putting new brakes on the rear of the car....I inadvertantly knocked a wheel speed sensor connector loose.....You may have something as simple as a loose connection or a shorted wire on a wheel speed sensor....Good luck!
