Where to get or download the "maintenance schedule booklet"?

    Hello,

I just got a 96 sts and need to add power steering fluid. The manual says to refer to the "maintenance schedule booklet" for the type of fluid. I have the manual but not the booklet.

    1. Where do I get a copy of the booklet?

    2. What kind of power steering fluid can I use? Is regular old fluid from the parts store fine?

    Thanks, Maclean

It's in your manual, in the back. At least it is on my Eldorado. It also notes a maintenance booklet in one place, but gives the spec in another. I put synthetic power steering fluid in mine. Nothing exotic. Works great.

Question Re: Where to get or download the "maintenance schedule booklet"?

I have the manual right here and it says nothing in the back or anywhere about the type of power steering fluid to use.

Do I have to use fluid from the dealership or can I get it from any auto parts store?

    Thanks, Maclean

Just make sure that the Power Steering fluid you choose to use meets the specified GM service number. Most will have it in bold letters on the front of the bottle.
