Speed is limited by whatever tires came from the factory. You can't remove it. 175! Someone is pulling your leg.

Use the search feature and search for mods and such. There is not much you can do. The factory just about did it all for you.

300 HP isn't enough for you? How much are you willing to spend? A Corsa exhaust is your (only) best bet for better performance. You could add better pads and rotors for improved stopping power.
    Is yours Z-rated?

Don't count on getting the governor removed, unless you know people in REALLY high places who aren't worried about liability if you crash.

The Z-rated STS tops out around 155mph. Maybe if you drove it out the back of a plane at 10,0000 feet you could pass the 175mph mark. Otherwise, someones been feeding you some serious BS.

Throw a higher stall speed torque converter in there....that'll help you launch faster and harder out of the hole.

If you really want some more power, you can turbocharge it. Then it MIGHT hit 175. Corsa exhaust with open intake and a higher stall converter is the best bang for your buck.

Mark, is your Z-rated or H-rated? I can't remember what you said it was.

Mine are Z rated and yes 300 horsepower is enough but i just thought there has to be a way to make and incredible car even more stellar. Oh i have only gotten to take my car to the speed limiter at 155 and it was very smoth and kinda quiet at that speed

Re: 99' STS ANyone know any mods?

I can understand more power, but not for top-end. Why the hell would you want to hit 175? Sure it may be possible but at the risk of your life, others lifes, and your cars life. When I buy a sports car, I don't wanna look for top end speed, I want 0-60 speed, because that's what I will use.

I doubt the aerodynamics are even good enough for an 98+ seville to reach 175

I didn't even know aerodynamics kick in before 175....I thought it comes in around 175-185. But that won't prevent the car from going that fast, it will cut off 5-10mph at most..........think about it Nascars run 200mph (I'm using a Superspeedway speed as an example because that's where aerodynamics take affect), the ones with a damged front fender...197...the ones missing a front end....like 190...

yeah but they also have around 700 hp to get them their.

aerodynamics will most definately limit the speed of a 98+ seville at such "low" speeds becuase there is not much power.
