    My FPR...

Hey guys, just wondering...I checked my FPR like Ranger said and depressurized the system first by means of the vacuum (like letting air out of a bike tire). I know that the FPR is faulty if the nipple is leaking raw fuel...well, I tried to depressurize it and when I pressed the pin in, raw fuel squirted out, instead of leaking. Now, either I did something wrong in checking it, or it needs SERIOUS replacement...right, wrong? What is it?

You released the schrader valve. It will definitely squirt gas! You want to pull the vacumn line on the FPR to check for leakage.

I had to chuckle when I read that. Yup, you did it wrong as EcSTSatic explained. Only depressuize when you are going to open the system to R & R a fuel filter, FPR or injector.

Or when you want a fun geyser of gas. Not quite as good a geyser as the Holley I had on my 78 when I accidently adjusted the float the wrong way, cranked it over and gas shot out of a bowl vent about a foot high...

I forgot to depressureize my system when I poped the FPR off. I was sprayed in the face with fuel. It was scary at the time, but now sort of funny.
