Does anyone else have electric struts on there seville?

I ahve a 1993 seville with a 4.9. I thougt that only the sts with the north start had the electric front struts. Well I have them and don't have the north star, why is this.

Something is wrong anyway I have the rss code, was this an option.

Your struts for that model year have a electric soleniod on them that activates a 3-way valve. The valve positions for "soft", "normal", and "hard". It is controlled by the computer and is dependent on speed and road condition.

To my knowledge, these struts were only factory installed. There are no aftermarket replacements. You are going to have to replace them with passive struts and disable that part of the computer. Search the forum, there is tons of info on this.

And I'm disappointed that when this technology wears out you have to do without it.

I would like to have them but I guess not. They dont bounce or leak so I think its just the sensors.

I really thought this was an sts thing only, why does my base seville have them.

The STS has a "active" suspension system. The one in your car changes with speed.
