    Eldorado driving shudder

I have a 1993 ETC that acquired an intermittent shudder while driving. It began happening at speeds around 55 mph (it felt like you were driving on flat tires, with steering wheel vibration and rear view mirror shaking) and would stop when you came to a stop. It has gotten worse and can happen even at 40 mph (still intermittent). I was told it wasn't the tranny (torque converter, especially) because if you put it in neautral while experiencing the shudder, the shuddering does not stop. Could it be the drive axle? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

When was the last time you had a Road Force Balance done on your tires and rims? Not a computer balance or a spin balance or even a bubble balance BUT a Hunter GSP 9700 Road Force Balance machine balance.

There are a multitude of threads on doing this procedure but I just completed my first one and the difference in the drive is night and day. No more shudders at ANY speeds up to 112.

No road force balance done recently, although a new set of wheels and tires have been put on recently .....still no difference.
