Door Weatherstripping...

Remove this ad
Last couple times I was sitting in my car, I noticed that when I opened the door the inside of the dash area and the door were a bit wet after it rained...( the two areas that'd be flat against one another if the door was closed, it's also the place where their is an vent opening to connect to the defroster in the door) . Snowed a lot lately too, and there were some snow flakes in the same area. Also, I'll have condensation on the inside of my windshield too. Wondering if anyone else has had any problems along those lines...I'm figuring it's just the weatherstripping around the door, any other ideas?

Re: Door Weatherstripping...

that sounds like the weatherstripping is not making firm contact when the door is shut, and that's probably all it is. When you open the door is the weatherstripping poofy or mooshed flat in those areas?

Re: Door Weatherstripping...

Definately flat. I've poked and prodded at it a few times to try and get some poofy-ness out of it...not happening. So I'm probably going to replace the weatherstripping. Figured I'd post something here and see if it is a heard-about problem though.

I haven't had the problem on my seville...yet. i've only had it about a year, and my weather stripping is still very poofy. i apply silicon spray to it every 3-4 months to keep it from getting hard and brittle like it did on my previous cars.
