older sevilles with keyless entry, do your lights/horn honk when locking or unlockin?

I have an older seville with keyless entry, its a 93 and I dont like the fact that when I lock or unlock my car with the fob that I dont get a conframation telling me they have been locked or unlocked.

I want to know if older sevilles have there horn honk or parking lights flash when they lock or unlock there cars.If so how can I get this feature on my car,and if you have steps to do so I would greatly appreciate it.

I am pretty sure you enable or disable that feature as you desire. The proceedure should be in your owners manual.

He is talking about a 93, though. I don't beleive they had any personlization features back when.

No mention of it in my 95 Eldo owners manual that I could easily find, and my car does not do it (although it is some aftermarket remote start/unlock system.)

Did your owners manual state that the lights SHOULD flash? Perhaps there is a problem with it. Or, are you sure it is indeed factory keyless?

Re: older sevilles with keyless entry, do your lights/horn honk when locking or unlockin?

Our '94 came with an aftermarket remote start/keyless entery that was intalled and works along with the factory system. If we use the factory keyless entery, we do not have any confirmation that the doors locked or unlocked. There is also no mention in the owner's manual about turning that feature on or off. However, if we use our aftermarket keyless entry; then our parking lights flash to indicate that the system received the command.

So, I don't think that the earlier model Cadillac's flash any lights to indicate the keyless entry performed it's duty.

I have a 97 SLS my factory alarm never sounded the horn when the car is locked or unlocked, the only thing it does is light up the headlights and interior lights, which is feature you can disengage if you want. I didn't like the fact that the horn doesn't sound, don't know why they didn't add the horn to the alarm. I ended getting an aftermarket alarm.

Okay this is what happens on the 94 Seville STS, I push the unlock and it lights up the interior lights for a little while. Head lights come on when I lock it. There is a switch on dashboard to left of steering wheel that controls the amount of delay you want for this feature. It is a sliding switch.

Here we thought we had it all figured out, and now you introduce this...

My 93 doesnt have what your 94 does. The interior ights doo come on but no headlights.I think I have a problem with the headlight delay problem anyway. With the headlights on in the auto on mode, if I open the door they go out.I close the door they go back on.

When I turn the car off and open the door they doent stay on for the time I set it to.They turn right of when I open the door.Is this normal or does anyone elsels car do this.

That's the twilight sentinel switch... AFAIK that's only supposed to turn the headlights on in low light conditions when the key is on the accessory or start position, and keep them on for a couple seconds to up to 3min after you turn the key off. Weird that yours is working with the remote unlock system...
