In morning on cold days Emergency Brake does not disengage with Rev or Drive

This is an intermittent problem that started with below freezing weather here in Western Canada. Once a day and usually on a very cold morning the Emerg Brake does not undo with shifter engaged. Eventually I can get it to move by shifting in and out of Gear several times.

Funny thing is once it works it is immediately fine for rest of day no matter how many times I use the emergency brake.

Because it immediately corrects once it moves does this suggest some grime that needs cleaning or lubrication? The fact the problem never repeats except early the next morning makes me think the vacuum is fine.

Help would be appreciated. Especially Ranger and the Caddy brain trust.

Thanks

Happy New Year.

Could be lubrication or a rusty cable, but the fact that it corrects itself buy shifting several times leads me to believe it is a faulty parking brake release diaphragm on the parking brake (not emergency brake) mechanism. Check it to see if it holds a vacuum.
