| Re: Power Antenna broken, any unique solutions? My nylon cable snapped (antenna would not go down) so I removed the motor from assembly . I kept the telescoping rods and installed (with no motor) it under the black lining on the roof of the trunk. Now I don't have to worry about it breaking or the motor going up and down. I used zip ties to secure to the cross brasses that run behind the speakers and wrapped everything in a towel to prevent shorting and vibration. The audio quality is just as good as when the antenna was fully extended. I glued the finial to the black screw insert so that it looks stock from the outside. I originally bought the replacement nylon cable, but it still wasn't working properly, the antenna setup is way over engineered, so I just simplified it. |
