Electrical demon - horn problems - 2000 STS

I have a 2000 STS w/70k miles. The horns have stopped working. I changed a blown fuse and checked the relay, which is ok. Inn addition I get periodical messages like "left rear door ajar" or "right reardoor ajar". Sometimes the doors will lock or unlock. The other day all doors unlocked while I was driving. The drivers door always work but the other 3 are intermittent. Any ideas?
    Thanks

I have a 2000 Seville/STS w/70k mi. Lately weird things are happening. I get random messages- "left rear door ajar", "right rear door ajar", "passenger door ajar". The drivers door window and lock work. The other 3 sometime do, sometimes don't. The other day all 4 doors unlocked themselves while I was driving. Also, the horns don't work. I found a blown fuse and replaced it, checked the relay. It works. The horn problem may not be related to the other issues. Any ideas?

When the horn starts to fail it uses more power as time goes on and causes your fuse to blow. Replace the pair of horns.

... or to save time, touch the cables together for 5 seconds and reconnect. You may need to recalibrate Express Window settings but otherwise, the system is reset and the transmission will need to re-learn your bas driving habits.

Have the battery load tested. If suspect at all, I'd replace it with a high quality Type 78 if your STS is a '07 or older.

Oops! You have a 2000 Seville! You're in the wrong forum... Get thee to sidewinder land. Nice cars but not STS.

    Re: electrical demon

OP, Threads and posts merged into the correct Seville Forum. Please read the forum title as well as descriptive text in each forum title banner to find out what is supposed to be posted there.

STS stands for Seville Touring Sedan. The later "STS" means nothing - it's a Sigma-body acronym knockoff of the real Seville.
