    I went with AC Delco 510-352 hood lifts. Purchased them from a CF Vendor. Thanks again for everyone's input on the matter.

    The SuperTech synthetic is sitting on my work bench. Next week, I plan to do the oil change.

    Gas lift struts ............. Went through the "which is better" thing last week during my shift at Western Auto - we poked around for a pair for the cap rear window on one of my trucks .......... discovered that, even though several were the same extended length, they have different internal gas pressures - to lift/hold different weights. The lift weight is in the strut ID number. Just sayin'

    Use a WIX 51522 filter - prefill it. 7.5 quarts total for refill. That brings the level to the middle of the dipstick hashmark - the GM recommended oil level.
