    Windshield Scratch

Somehow on the wife's car something got trapped under the driver's side wiper blade and produced a noticeable scratch on the windshield. Not real deep but follows the complete arc of the wiper travel. My question is has anyone tried to remove a windshield scratch with any success? I tried polishing with fine rubbing compound but it had little effect, Smoothed it out a bit but the mark is still visible.

rubbing compound will NOT cut glass -

it can be done - but not for the faint-of-heart -

Try a glass polishing kit from www.customchemicalpkg.com

It will not entirely remove the scratch itself but will polish off all the facets IN the scratch which reflect light and make the scratch more visible.

You might find one of their kits(they market several types) at a large parts chain store.
