Best Source for 2000 OEM Wheels

    Hi all,
I just purchased a 2000 STS with aftermarket wheels that I don't really care for. Can someone tell me a good source to buy or maybe even trade for some OEM wheels?

    This is what I have.

    What I want.

    Thanks,
    James

Re: Best Source for 2000 OEM Wheels

Your STS will take any of the 16" or 17" FWD wheels in the series. The 17" wheel tire size is 235/55/17, and if your car was originally equipped with 16" wheels the correct tire size will be on the driver's door sticker.

Look on eBay. A few years ago I bought a mint set of four 2003 CTS 17" wheels (picture) (same as the STS 17's except polished/clearcoat, not chrome) for $300 - shipped.

For other choices look in www.wheelcollision.com - get into your model and year group, click the little picture for a zoom. The 10-spoke Deville 18 X 8 wheels look good too.

Definitely Craigslist/Ebay, picked a set of nice with ok tires for under 200 locally. On ebay I pick up rims for 50-75 that are nice condition.

Just to put it out there, I switch to some aftermarket wheels a couple years ago, so I have 4 of the OEM wheels from my 2000 Seville STS sitting around at my parents’ garage. I'm sure they would LOVE to see those disappear.

I happened to find this wheel for my '97 online back in December. Brand new, never mounted, even came with the original valve stem in the package. Nice to have just as a spare, but keep your eyes open, there is still some stuff out there!

I find most of my parts online from ebay or OEM part stores like GM Parts Super Store online.

Many people buy these Cadillacs used and change out the wheels with their bling bling 22's that are 2x the price of the vehicle-

They'll most likely sell the original wheels on Craigslist or something for cheap because they'll think it's crap.

I got 03 Deville wheels with 90% tread Yokohama tires that way, for $250.

Sub I need one of those! Name your price!! It took me about a month to notice I had 3 chrome and one alloy rim! Very unnoticeable but annoyed the hell out of me!

Sorry, but those wheels have a set of W-rated summer only performance tires mounted on them.

Look in CTS (not -V) Classifieds or on eBay.

Surprisingly though, some of the aftermarket wheels are much cheaper than OEM. I wanted to step up to DTS wheels (05 to 010) for my Eldo, and I couldn't believe the prices they were asking for them. $1,400.00 dollars and up for a set with tires. No thanks. You can buy some aftermarket wheels for cheaper than that. I'll stick with the original chromes that came with the car, unless I
get a great deal like Sub got.

Lol, sorry Vasi, I'm afraid I could never let this go. You never know when some dummy could hit you in a parking lot or whatnot. You did upgrade from the painted (silver) wheels at one point though didn't you? I wouldn't mind a set of those for spares either, just to swap out now and then. I could probably even refinish them to look brand new. I'm guessing the chrome wheels were not so difficult to find back then. About 10 years ago I purchased 3 brand new wheels caps for the chrome wheels also, with this wheel I finally have a full set caps now as well (several different variants w/ or w/o the gold). I'm always scared some kids will pry them off, gives me nightmares thinking that I might have to drive around on some scratched up used rubbish wheels.. :O

Still looking for a set of NOS Goodyear Eagle GA's though, the original set on the car isn't going to last forever. Also, XLR wheels look pretty good on our cars in my opinion.
