    How do i disconnect throttle cable and cruise control rod on a 85 seville

    How do i disconnect throttle cable cruise control rod from throttle body. The plastics so old i don't want to force it and break it.

    I pulled the keeper on the other end of the rod in the vacuum diaphragm, I then depressed the diaphragm to get the rod out. Then I pulled the rod at an angle away from the ball socket on the throttle body. Make sure and note which hole you remove the keeper from! Just be gentle!

    Thanks for your reply got it off without braking it just forced the throttle cable off only way. I'm good at doing real difficult intricate task but little mickey mouse stuff throws me.

    By the way i couldnt really see the rod when i removed the keeper i assumed it only had one hole not a half a dozen do you know which one it goes in?

    With the throttle completely closed put it in the hole that leaves the least slack. Don't get to tight or your engine won't idle down. Adjustment is why there are holes.

    The manual states to adjust to very little slack with the ICV retracted.
