That's VERY high. Check book value in NADA and KBB's sites.

Dealer is probably looking to get $7500. for the car after dickering. If all the paper work is their to support diligent maintenance and the car appearance supports excellent condition $7500. may not be a bad price.

Re: 2002 ESC dealer pricing ?

Was there ever a used vehicle for sale w/o being described as "excellent", "fine", or "mint".

But seriously without checking KBB or NADA that price sound high for a 45K '02 ESC.
That kind of price is what I would expect to pay on a similar mileage Collectors Edition, or a '02 ETC. Giving the choice between '02 ESC, ETC or Collector Edition with similar mileage and condition, I would go for the possibly rarest of all: the ETC (no matter how much less is the ESC). The Collector Edition has kind of "meh" colors, impossible to find the wood/carbon fiber trim for it, rims are kind of iffy...

I would pay no more than $7000 on an ESC and that only if it was literally perfect. For almost no extra cost you get a ETC (a whole different car), but is difficult to find a good low mileage ETC (were rare to begin with in that year), and for possibly less than that you get a F55 STS with similar mileage and a whole lot of extras. But then again is a 2 door, is rare, it comes at a premium (but I would not compromise to an ESC unless is sentimental value).
