Although the airflow in the typical intake of any stock automobile is far from laminar, the introduction of ANY object into the airstream will hinder, not help, the air going to the throttle body. Suddenly taking a striaght flow of air and adding a twist as these "vortex generators" do requires a sudden change of inertia in the airflow which causes drag, not to mention the additional drag created by the parasitic boundry turbulence clinging to the static vanes of this contraption. And wherever you introduce drag, you can safely assume that you have reduced airflow. Rest assured that this device will REDUCE horsepower and gas mileage. |
