    Rear Fuse Box1.jpg

Hello N*Caddy - 1. Thanks for your help! 2. Both fuses checked good.
Can I assume the door gnd is OK because they draw high current for switches, motors ect is functioning.
    Where am I going wrong?

Tracking the brown wire circuit 1244 wire sounds like a nightmare!
    Procedure?
    1. Remove door handle switch plate
    2. Remove window switch plate - pry out from rear or front?
    3. Jumper wire from rear ???? to switch ??? & check?
    4. odd – same problem on both door switches.

    Request additional “detailed” help.
Heck if it was easy everyone would be driving an old Caddy!
    THANKS!
    Andy

I assume the 02 is the same as the 01 - if that is true -

the INT LPS fuse in the under-hood fuse block could be the problem -
    it covers
    Trunk Lamp, Courtesy Lamps,
Front Vanity Lamps, Glove Box Lamp,
Garage Door Opener, Courtesy Lamp Relay

    Both fuses checked good.
I can only assume that the door gnd is ok because the window switches & window motors draw more current the window switch lights.

How about running a jumper wire from the "IPC pin A4 in the C2 connector (brown wire circuit 1244) all the way to the door window switches."?
Can you please provide the location of these connections?

How do I remove the window switch?
    1. push & lift from the front or back?
    2. Is there anything else required?

    Thanks!
    Andy

INT LPS fuse checked good - a fuse is either open or closed - this one is closed, thus
all int lps function excpet the door switch lamps. Not easy!
    Thanks!

Re: 2002 Eldo - door lights, radio seek lights & programming snafu

The INT LPS fuse is not involved into the equation (as per FSM).

Over 8 years ago when I bought my car, the fog lights were not working. I searched high and low because surely cannot have both bulbs burnt in the same time.
As a last resort I checked the bulbs, left one burnt, aha...surely the other one is good, right, burnt too, WT* were original to the vehicle too.
So never underestimate the previous owner. Now I know I am contradicting myself because in a previous post I mentioned if both sides are off don't bother with the bulbs, is unlikely to be both burnt but at this point I would take the next easy thing to check.
The door window switches come out by inserting a flat blade tool (recommended plastic trim removal) on the backside of the switch assembly (between the bezel and the door panel) shove the tool forward and up. With calculated force the backside of the switch assembly should come up then is just a matter of pulling the switch assembly out (caution many wires attached).
You will then identify the wires:
    Driver's side:
Pin D (BRN wire) illumination power supply
    Pin G (BLK wire) GND

    Passenger side:
Pin B (BRN wire) illumination power supply
    Pin C (BLK wire) GND

Apply 12 volts on the switch side of the pins and observe if the amber lights turn on. If not then you have a burnt bulb, if yes then chase the harness from switch to IPC, I hope is the harness not the IPC output because then you really have an issue.
Also you haven't mentioned (or I missed the reply) if your headlamp switch lights are operational.

Can't swear it on your car, but I believe you simply pry up on the trailing edge and then slide it out.

Re: 2002 Eldo - door lights, radio seek lights & programming snafu

    Haven't I clearly mentioned:
The door window switches come out by inserting a flat blade tool (recommended plastic trim removal) on the backside of the switch assembly (between the bezel and the door panel) shove the tool forward and up.
So that would be 9 pushing forward and up.

Front and aft of the switch here are 2 metal clips, that's what holds the switch in the door panel slot.
Inserting the tool in the back will push the clip to release.
Prying from the sides my crack the door panel.

I would recommend something that looks like what's called in the below picture "Panel tool no 6".

The left side would be ideal...

Very similar clip as in this picture:

This is what you will see in the back of the switch. Down near the leg of each pin should be some letters (A,B,C...).

You do have a DVM don't you?

Still haven't seen the answer to my question about the headlamp switch illumination, I am trying to help you, help me help you!

Please READ my replies, told you the pins on each side. READ!!!!

Light bulbs are NOT serviceable. You will probably destroy the switch in the process, get a new switch is cheap.
