I noticed today when I turn on my ac the clutch kicks in but no cold air. The lines aren't getting cold as well. I checked for codes none just my check oil level came on this morning. The only thing I noticed is the sound isn't the same as it use to be when the clutch kicks in its a little off.my fans won't kick in either. Maybe low level freon need advice

Have it charged. Check for broken vacuum lines. It will be the line running from intake, in front of the coil pack, and in the firewall on the pass side. The rest are under the pass side dash. Does your e brake disengage when put it gear?

    Re: Ac compressor help

Probably low on refrigerant, but you won't know until you hook up a set of gauges and get the low and high side pressures.

Your vent actuator and e brake run on the same vacuum line. Refer to the thread about a 97 etc with only defrost and floor vents working. It might help you out a bit without repeating the same things over again.

in your case - absolutely nothing -

the old Eldos use vacuum to control the climate control system -
and the parking brake release is also vacuum powered -

    Re: A/C compressor help

So I put stop leak freon one small and the rest cold charged it and works great for a week and now back not hot air the compressor still kicks in and the low pressure line where u charge it is cold when I turn it on but the thicker line Is not and do either a leak or a faulty compressor right. I will out the tester tonight and see if the gauge dropped again any other thoughts. I do notice te compressor does not have a same sound when it turns on and off thanks

    Re: A/C compressor help

Now you've done it. NEVER use a stop leak in the A/C system. You have contaminated the system and will most likely have to replace every component. You probably will have a hard time finding a shop that will touch it should you need one.

    WHAT?

I understand you put AC stopleak in the system -
and it worked for a week -

you lost me after that -

let me just say this -
    to diagnose AC problems -
you need to connect a quality set of guages -

then post BOTH the HIGH pressure readings -
and the LOW pressure readings -

along with the ambient - outside - air temp -

and the air discharge temp at the center AC vent -
with the temp set at 60* and a medium speed fan - with the engine at a high idle - 1500 rpm -

    Re: A/C compressor help

It's wasn't stop leak sorry it was just the freon. I thought I got the one with leak stop but it wasn't just basic 134 a. I filled it last week and today when I put the gauge on the low pressure side it was back down to 170 below the green when yo should of been at level I had it. When I turn on the ac the clutch kicks in and the low pressure live turns cold but no cold air. I thing either compressor is acting up or a leak. I used some soppy water and I saw some bubble when the two lines enter the fire wall but don't thing the cause would be there.

    Re: A/C compressor help

So you did find something leaking? The connections at firewall or the lines themselves?
You're using one of those cheap a$$ single gauge cans aren't you.... you need set of gauges.
