    1992 Eldorado No Start Condition

Hello, I have recently purchased this 1992 Cadillac Eldorado. I am having trouble figuring out why it won't start. It has a new battery, but when you turn the key it just clicks. Any ideas where to start? Thank you!

Clicking...like a continual clicking as long as you're holding the key or just one or two? How many miles on it?

Could be a bad cable, but don't rule out the battery. I've gotten "new" batteries with a dead cell.

I have used multi batteries from other vehicles, still the same thing. Yes it clicks as long as I hold the key. It has 140xxx miles on it.

Re: 1992 Eldorado No Start Condition

After looking over the car I have found what I believe to be two bad relays. When I first try to start the car I can hearing a clicking coming from the drivers floor after some research and looking for myself I found a relay that is for the starter. Also it seems with the key turned on but not in the run position there is a humming coming from the fuse panel on the LH side of the engine bay. After looking there are three relays located under the fuse panel. The one farthest to the right viewing from the front of the car back is humming. Anyone know what this relay is for? Also is there a test procedure for these relays? THANKS!

So after replacing the relay it still seems to do the same thing. Acts like it has a bad battery, but I have replace and use multi good batteries. Could this be a security issue? When I bough the car the factory radio was removed, could this cause an issue? Thanks for any or all help!

I got it, it ended up being a bad starter relay located under the carpet on the drive's side floor.
