Wrong forum. This forum is for the later Sigma body "STS". Moved to Seville. Please read the descriptive text in each forum banner to find out what is supposed to be posted there.

Check the Tech Tips section. There may be a tutorial in there.

Unfortunately unlike the '97 and older Seville where the heater core replacement is a 30 min thing, in the '98+ is a huge job, I mean scary huge. There is a thread on this forum with pictures and all (sorry I remember seeing it but can't find it).

Just to give you an idea...

To take the dash out, you first need to remove both (heavy and awkward) front seats, as well as the center console. You'll have to remove the steering column, pillar trim, vents, dash pad, under dash hush panels...

    You'll be left with this:

The heater core is behind/inside what you can see in the picture.

$350 would be an EXCELLENT deal, but I'm thinking the shop has no idea what they're getting into. This is pretty much an all day job, requiring 2 people at times. If they rush, or don't know what they're doing, you'll end up with damage to the steering wheel and door panels (from the seats), broken trim/clips, and there'll probably be a few fasteners left out. This really isn't a job for the corner mechanic.

Mitchell gives 7 hours, which, IMO, is not nearly enough. But even at that, it's a $700 job, parts & labor.

I've done one. Posted pics too. For 350 let someone else do it. You have to tear the heater box out which requires everything from the console forward to be removed. Seats console steering wheel with column dash pad carrier radio hvac etc. All to to go...
