    You can probably use up to 99. Externally mounted gear selector switch assembly.

    After 00, the gear selector switch was moved inside into the transmission

    2000 will not work in a '94 as is.
    You might be able to change it over.
    Yours should have the switch circled in yellow in picture.
    Make sure the diff is the same as mentioned before.

    Re: Transmission 1994---->2001 - STS

    my car is the year model of 2000 and it has a gear box broke, I was thinking to change to the 1995 model of the gearbox with gear ratio is the same 3.71:1, with the only difference that I see is the electricity, the electric wires which comes from the gearbox, my car (2000) on the gearbox is not the yellow circled labeled "switch" it is quite similar to the 1995 gearbox, just the pin to which the wire rope will vaihdekepiltä.luuletteko that the exchange is successful if I change the valve body suits up and down, then will be exchanged in the electrical wiring.

    OHH. I thought you were going the other way.
    Then, no, can't do it, as is.
    2000 has an internal neutral mode switch & 1995 has external.
    I'm guessing there isn't a large selection where you are.

    When you cross reference transmissions they only seem to be compatible for a few years in a row. Sometimes it's changes that you can't see.

    ........... and VIN Y transmission to VIN Y transmission, same for VIN 9 swaps.

    SLS, ESC, Base Deville, DHS are VIN Y = 3.11 economy highway final drive. (Concours ????)

    STS, ETC, DTS (the real Deville) are VIN 9 = 3.71 performance final drive.
