I may not be calling it the correct term.....the lowest component under the drivers side strut.....has a big control arm that passes thru the frame....Cadillac has discontinued,........my parts store says NO-DICE ! I saw a site here for old caddie parts or if a member has a used one.....need to get her rolling!!!! mike in Omaha
Used lower control arms for these vehicles are pretty common as they were also used in other GM vehicles. Look on eBay for starters -- I bought a set about two months ago from the Cadillac King website. I would expect to pay about $75-$100 each.
There is a washer and bushing on each side of the frame - it all gets sandwiched together when you tighten the nut on the control arm. The bushings and washers are sold as a set and are called the strut rod bushings.
That aforementioned nut was a lock nut from the factory. If you don't replace it, at least put some threadlocker on it.
