At that age and mileage the shocks and struts are DEFINITELY done.

    I'd suggest Monroe replacements.

I completely agree with MoistCabbage - Monroe offers the best valve -

    for the front -
    the Monroe 90008 KIT -

it includes everything - for BOTH sides - except new springs -
the best price is $210.82 - with free shipping -
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

    for the rear -
    the Monroe 40046 -

the best price is $113.41 each - with free shipping -
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

a "fair" labor rate would be around 1 1/2 hours total for both front and rear -
IF you can find a shop willing to use "your-supplied-parts" -

    Struts

    Monroe part number 90008 - Around $215-$220.

    Shocks

    Monroe part number 40046 - Around $110-$115.

Google the part numbers and look for the best prices.

Labor for both shocks is under an hour. Struts may be up to 1.5 hours, but much quicker if it's a quick strut, which is ready to install without having to put the new strut into the new assembly.

    Oops, basscatt beat me.

Worm shocks are more likely to give you a softer and more floaty ride.

Worn shocks and struts have less damping force, so you'll feel less impact from the bumps themselves, but if they're badly worn, the wheels will "jiggle" up and down a couple of times after each impact, exaggerating it. And the suspension can bottom out over larger bumps.

95 strut r&r will definitely affect camber. Does that price include alignment? I would change strut mounts and struts

The 9008 kit includes new mounts. There're no extra parts or labor.

    ----------

Wait, is this mechanic saying that's the cause for the harsh ride? Worn mounts would only cause suspension noise and affect alignment.

    Re: bumpy ride.....struts? 95 sls

your BUMPY RIDE is NOT caused by strut mounts -

I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND replacing all the parts included in the Monroe 90008 KIT -
